Arrive at Dharamshala and proceed to the hotel.
Nestled in the upper regions of the Kangra Valley, Dharamshala is a quaint town surrounded by forests of deodar cedar trees. One of its suburbs, Macleodganj, is known worldwide as the residence of the Dalai Lama who took refuge in India after the Chinese Army overran Tibet in 1959. It is now the centre of the Tibetan exile world and has a lot of Tibetan settlers.

Today, after breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Dharamshala.
The first stop will be at Macleodganj - the "Little Lhasa". Here visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex that houses the Dalai Lama`s residence, Tibet Museum, Tsuglagkhang Temple and Namgyal Gompa.
After the visit proceed to the Bhagsunag Temple of Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the key religious places in Himachal Pradesh.
Continue your sightseeing tour by visiting the St. John`s Church. This is a quaint Anglican church situated in the midst of of the dense deodar forest. The glasses on the windows of the church are made of Belgian stained glass.
Later in the day, visit the Shiva Temple in Baijnath, 50 kms away. The temple is ornamented with floral and geometrical designs along with images of various Gods and Goddesses. Shiva`s vahan, Nandi the Bull, rests in the compund, cut out of one piece of stone.
Return to the hotel after the visit. Rest of the day is at leisure.

In the morning, after breakfast, proceed to visit the Kangra Fort. The fort is of historical significance and at the entrance is a museum displaying some valuable old photographs of the fort and some exquisite stone sculptures prior to the devastating earthquake of 1906.
Continue to visit the temple of Jwalaji - one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in India.The tongue of Sati is believed to have fallen here and is represented by Holy Flame or Jwala that is perpetually burning.The flame comes out of nine different rocks in the temple.
From here continue to Chintapurni Devi Temple.Mata Chintapurni is rumoured to take away a person`s worries and troubles away with her.
Return to the hotel in Dharamshala after the visits.

After a leisurely breakfast in the morning, leave by road for Amritsar.
Amritsar, historically known as Ramdaspur, is the spiritual centre for the Sikh religion. It is home to the Harmandir Sahib, popularly, known as the Golden Temple.
Arrive at Amritsar and proceed to the hotel for a check in.
Rest of the day is at leisure for independant activities.

After breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of the city.
The first stop will be the Durgiana Temple. This temple is a very important temple for Hindu pilgrims.It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple.
After visiting the Durgiana Temple, proceed to the Harmandir Sahib or the Golden Temple.
The Golden Temple is one of the most important temples for Sikh pilgrims. It was built by the 4th Sikh Guru, Guru Ramdas Sahib Ji in the 16th century. The holiest text of the Sikhs, the Guru Granth Sahib,is always present in the Gurudwara. Its construction was mainly intended to build a place of worship for
men and women from all walks of life and all religions to come and
worship God equally. In the early nineteenth century, Maharaja Ranjit Singh secured the Punjab region from outside attack and covered the upper floors of the Gurdwara with gold, which gives it its distinctive appearance and its English name.
From here move onto the Jallianwala Bagh. This bagh is a public garden and houses a memorial of national importance,established in 1951 to commemorate the massacre by British occupying forces of peaceful celebrators on the
occasion of the Punjabi New Year on April 13, 1919 in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Over 1500 innocent civilians were killed by the British police.
Return to the hotel after the visits.
In the afternoon drive to the Wagah Border to witness the "lowering of the flags" ceremony. This ceremony is also known as "Beating the Retreat " ceremony and is a daily military practice that the security forces of India (Border Security Force) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959.
